earliest about 9 dpo (days past ovulation) with a test like first response. Everyone and every pregnancy is different so it can be a few days later than that. To be sure you can test if you are late.

Technically conception usually occurs 14 days before your next period is due if you are an exact 28 day cycle. So my answer would be 14 days… the first day of your missed period. The five days before rarely turn up as can be seen in the accuracy ratings on the box and use first mornign urine for the highest concentration!

everyone is different. You can start about 9-10 days past. My experience. 3 of them I waited till my period was due and everytime I got some that had really dark lines and one had a very light line so I implanted alittle later with the one and one of my children I always got my period a week late then and tested a week before I would of had it and it was a positive pretty good one. I still wonder when I would of conceived because it’s always 14 days before! good luck and I am too wait right now and hoping!

most pregnancy test say that you can take them up to a week before your first missed period.
but i would wait maybe a week after, seeing as how many things ( such as, weight loss or gain, stress, infection, blood sugar levels…) can make you miss a period.
you should probably take a test when you know you’ve missed your period, and if it says that your not pregnant, you should still take a follow up test about a week later.
don’t stress out.

Funny, I just looked into this topic this morning! First Response Early Result is supposed to be the best one according to consumer research. The test states that a pregnancy could be detected even before a missed period, depending on how much pregnancy hormone your body has produced. They recommend purchasing the 2 pack. You could test now and then re-test 7 days later.

There are two types of pregnancy tests. One tests the blood for the pregnancy hormone, hCG. The other checks the urine for this hormone. You can do a urine test at home with a home pregnancy test. You need to see a doctor to have blood tests.
These days, most women first use home pregnancy tests (HPT) to find out if they are pregnant. HPTs are inexpensive, private, and easy to use. Urine tests will be able to tell if you’re pregnant about 2 weeks after ovulation. Some more sensitive urine tests claim that they can tell if you are pregnant as early as one day after a missed period.
If a HPT says you are pregnant, you should call your doctor right away. You doctor can use a more sensitive test along with a pelvic exam to tell for sure if you’re pregnant. Seeing your doctor early on in your pregnancy will help you and your baby stay healthy.
Doctors use two types of blood tests to check for pregnancy. Blood tests can pick up hCG earlier in a pregnancy than urine tests can. Blood tests can tell if you are pregnant about 6 to 8 days after you ovulate (or release an egg from an ovary). A quantitative blood test (or the beta hCG test) measures the exact amount of hCG in your blood. So it can find even tiny amounts of hCG. This makes it very accurate. Mine was 12 days. Although I’ve seen it happen anywhere from 9-14 days past.
